Carrie Gabbert is currently the Director of Musical Theatre at Brooklyn Music School in Brooklyn, New York where she also maintains a private voice studio. While at BMS, Carrie has directed musicals such as Annie Jr., We Are Monsters, The Show Must Go Online, and Super Happy Awesome News among others. In addition to directing, she has been teaching private voice lessons to children and adults as well as teaching Drama and Musical Theatre classes for children through the Arts Reaching Youth Program at BMS.
Throughout her career, Carrie has had the privilege to explore both opera and musical theatre styles. Carrie has performed numerous opera and musical theatre roles in New York City and all over the US, toured with Missoula Children's Theatre, and has recorded with McGraw Hill and Hal Leonard Publishings. Carrie is a proud alumna of New York University (NYU) Steinhardt with a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance: Musical Theatre Performance and her Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy. Throughout her time at NYU she was seen in Carousel as Arminy, and the world premiere of Special Breakfast as female lead, Rhonda Rouleau. She was also an adjunct faculty member teaching voice at New York University Steinhardt. Carrie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Drake University in 2012 where she played numerous roles in their mainstage productions. Carrie recently moved to Columbia, South Carolina and currently works virtually for Brooklyn Music School where she maintains her voice studio, continues to teach her Drama and Musical Theatre classes, and will put on her 4th Musical Theatre production online. |
